About the role 

This role can be located in Auckland or Wellington. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an Environment & Delivery Enablement Lead to shape and continuously improve the non-production environments, release readiness practices and delivery ways of working that support our Software teams across development, testing, integration and UAT environments.  

In this role, you’ll collaborate with teams to improve how change moves from idea through to production. This is a role with real scope to influence how we work, strengthen delivery and create lasting impact across Bluecurrent. 

What success looks like in this role: 

• Create a clear environment strategy and operating model, with ownership, purpose, lifecycle and governance for development, test, integration and UAT environments. 
• Improve environment reliability and visibility through health information, availability reporting, planned outage communication and an actionable roadmap. 
• Establish release standards and readiness practices. 
• Build a dependable test data capability, including refresh, masking, provisioning, quality validation and opportunities for synthetic data. 
• Remove delivery bottlenecks through standardisation, enabling automation and improving flow across multiple engineering teams. 
• Use delivery and environment metrics to prioritise improvements and show progress in deployment success, lead time, release delays, availability and engineering productivity. 

What you will bring 

We’re looking for someone who sees delivery as a connected system and enjoys making complex work more effective. You’ll bring a strong improvement mindset and the ability to collaborate with technical and business teams. You will ideally bring: 

• 5+ years' experience in at least one of software delivery, release management, quality engineering, DevOps, environment management, or a related discipline, together with experience collaborating across multiple teams. 
• An understanding of the software development lifecycle, environment lifecycle management, release and deployment practices, and how quality is built into delivery. 
• Experience leading process or capability improvements across functions, using analysis and practical problem-solving to reduce friction. 
• The ability to influence and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders. 
• Knowledge of CI/CD, deployment automation, change and release governance, rollback approaches, and software delivery metrics. 
• Experience with delivery tooling, Infrastructure as Code, environment automation, test data practices, DORA or flow metrics is preferred, rather than essential.
