Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance, updates, and monitoring of the infrastructure to ensure it operates efficiently and securely.
- You'll use monitoring tools to detect issues and address them promptly.
- You'll use scripting and configuration management tools to automate routine tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce the risk of human error.
- You'll be developing and implementing disaster recovery and backup plans, essential to ensure business continuity in the event of hardware failures, data loss, or other disasters.
- You'll predict future needs and making recommendations for hardware and software upgrades.
- Install and configure servers, network equipment, and storage systems. This involves setting up operating systems, databases, and other necessary software.
Qualifications
Must have:
- at least 3 years experience in Linux systems administration in a high-traffic production internet site;
- basic networking knowledge
Preferred experience:
- configurations and troubleshooting – would be a plus if you know protocols like BGP, OSPF;
- Good understanding and proficiency with iptables firewalls;
- Experience in Shell Scripting skills using Python;
- Experience with Apache or Nginx web servers, MySQL;
- Experience with high-availability & backup systems;
- Solid knowledge of automation tools (Ansible);
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning, automation, and configuration management.
- experience with PHP configuration;
- experience in source control management, such as Git or Subversion;
- experience with cPanel/WHM.
