Job Description
Position Description
The Seasonal Restoration Technician supports restoration project implementation to improve water quality/health. The seasonal restoration technician will focus on tree plantings during the spring and fall, and tree care and maintenance through the summer. The technician will also support projects that range from pavement removal, cistern installation, green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) implementation and maintenance. Tree and GSI care and maintenance responsibilities encompass regular watering, mulching, stake removal, tree surveys, and more. This position works closely with three team members to complete projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Spring and fall tree plantings, adhering to the proper methods of tree installation.
- Maintain trees through watering, stake removal, pruning, etc. (Summer).
- Weekend volunteer events are required work days.
- Hours can be reduced “flexed” during the week when weekend work is completed.
- Work with volunteers on restoration projects.
- Support green stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Weekend volunteer events are required work days.
- Operate work trucks.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, pry bars, pick-axes, and stake drivers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Attention to detail, consistency and punctuality are required .
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Applicant should be willing to work in potentially harsh conditions (i.e. hot weather, inclement weather).
- Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Preferred Experience: Previous landscaping or construction experience, plant knowledge, volunteer experience.

This role will pay $15 per hour, operating on a 35 hour work week.
Duration: 10 months - (March through November)
