Steelscape, LLC is a national supplier of metallic-coated and pre-painted steel. Aimed at servicing the construction industry, Steelscape’s products can be used for a wide range of applications from metal buildings to architectural roofing to decking and framing. Steelscape’s facilities, located in Kalama, Washington; and Rancho Cucamonga, California are strategically located near major truck, ship and rail routes to service the Western U.S. market.

ASC Profiles LLC is the leading manufacturer of steel roof and wall products and structural roof and floor deck in the Western U.S., servicing customers from eight locations. ASC Profiles services various segments of the steel construction industry through its three divisions, AEP Span, ASC Steel Deck and ASC Building Products.

As a member of the BlueScope Maintenance and Engineering team, the Industrial Controls Technician directs the design and installation of new or replacement of low to moderately complex automation equipment, focused on down stream business, adheres to standards for reliability and guidelines for engineering. Ensures engineering drawings and technical information are kept up to date for equipment identified. This incumbent will be dedicated to the ASC Profiles LLC. plant locations and coordinate activities with their maintenance team.

The incumbent is also responsible for supporting the maintenance team as a technical support with daily activities on equipment and systems within the ASC Profiles LLC plant sites.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:- 

• Act as project lead on new equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and training.
• Lead or assist in feasibility studies for new robotic or automation equipment.
• Assist and interface with Plant Managers and ASC Profiles LLC Maintenance Team across the business as required on maintenance activities and project improvements.
• Support the maintenance, reliability, and performance activities to ensure equipment and system’s meet their required targets.
• Train operations and maintenance users in new systems operations and maintenance activities.
• Research and investigate new technologies to decrease costs, increase effectiveness, and maintain business viability.
• Ensure all systems have secure protection protocols consistent with BlueScope standards.
• Support BlueScope digital and customer experience initiatives to provide highly integrated technology solutions.
• The Industrial Control Technician may also be tasked with supporting other maintenance activities across BlueScope during breakdowns, line shuts, annual shuts or when the need arises.

Minimum:-

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or trade school in the electrical field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in an industrial control technician capacity.
• Experience designing, installing, and maintaining of low to moderate complexity industrial control systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Solid understanding of control systems and automation principles.
• Demonstrated proficiency in PLC programming.
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard industrial networking protocols.

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• 3+ years’ automation/robotics/mechatronics project work.
• Experience programming Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs
• 5 years or more of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience developing and maintaining an asset strategy and reliability program for electrical equipment.

Travel Requirements: This role requires travel to ASC Profiles LLC locations occasionally requiring day travel or overnight travel.

Pay Range: $77,211 - $115,817annually
