BlueScope Recycling (BRM) is a full-service, ferrous scrap metal recycler with processing facilities in Waterloo, Indiana, Delta, Ohio, and Mansfield, Ohio.

With a focus on delivering the highest level of service, BlueScope Recycling buys scrap from industrial generators, wholesale suppliers, and the general public. 

As a processor, BlueScope Recycling transform raw ferrous scrap into specification melt products for primary and secondary producers of iron, steel, and stainless steel.

Summary: The primary role of the Driver is to provide timely, efficient, safe, and courteous hauling service to suppliers and/or customers along an assigned route.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*HOME DAILY*

· Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle.

· Learn geography of assigned route and surrounding areas.

· Clean up spills and overflows, and return boxes to their proper area.

· Operate vehicle with public safety as primary responsibility.

· Effectively communicate with dispatch and route supervisors, both orally and in writing.

· Report all accidents, injuries, or maintenance issues in a timely manner.

· Observe and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local jobsite health and safety regulations, rules, policies, and procedures.

· Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking.

· Maintain collaborative working relationships with coworkers and customers.

· Think independently and creatively to solve problems.

· Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support, and collaboration amongst coworkers.

· Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability.

· Maintain a positive attitude with coworkers and customers.

· Comply with DOT rules and regulations (i.e. DOT physicals, random drug testing, etc.) in order to maintain Class A CDL.

Required Qualifications:

- Class A CDL, current and valid commercial driver’s license, and DOT medical card.

- 1+ year of roll-off and/or semi-tractor driving experience.

- Basic truck mechanics and parts experience.

- Able to routinely perform physical tasks (i.e. lifting and moving materials, cleaning boxes, opening heavy roll-off box doors, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in the scrap metal industry preferred.

- Principles of scrap metal recycling collection preferred.

- Semi-dump trailer experience preferred.
