We are looking for a Total Rewards leader within the North America Human Resources Shared Service team, reporting to the North America VP People. You’ll oversee the Compensation & Benefits team, and work with other professionals, departments, and vendors and partners to develop and deliver compensation and benefits programs that meet company needs, legal requirements and provide a platform for a positive employee experience.     

Key to success in this role is being analytical and methodical, with experience in Compensation & Benefit management.  We also value integrity, team spirit, customer centric service, strong organizational skills and an ability to view compensation and benefit offerings from multiple stakeholder perspectives.  

Job Description

  • Responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the organization’s compensation and benefits programs, including base pay, incentive pay, health and welfare benefits (health, life, disability, wellness, ancillary), paid time off, leave of absence, and retirement benefits.
  • Responsible for compensation and benefit strategies, programs, policies, and procedures that assure attractiveness, internal equity, external competitiveness, offer optimal employee experience, are compliant, and aligned with NA and business unit business strategies and initiatives.
  • Lead, manage and coach the compensation and benefits team to provide support and expertise with a focus on customer service while increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of their activities. Review and implement improvements, continually look for ways to use technology to enhance the deliverables of the function.
  • Consistently assess competitiveness of compensation and benefit programs through market analysis and strong understanding of total rewards best practices, job architecture, trends and understanding of business unit needs.  Make recommendations for changes as appropriate with supporting data.
  • Develops compensation and benefit program budgets, works with budget owners and executive leaders in the business to manage budgets after approved.
  • Design and deliver reports that monitor total rewards costs and service deliverables and provide executive leadership with data needed to understand trends and budget impacts.
  • Manage vendors and third-party administrators of compensation and benefit programs to service level expectations and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure on-and off-boarding of employees as related to compensation and benefits, including retiree management, is effective and efficient.
  • Benchmark individual new and existing positions on an on-going basis to establish competitive salary grades and ranges. 
  • Direct and execute all aspects of annual open enrollment, annual performance management and annual compensation planning processes.  Liaison with Payroll and HRIS leadership to ensure pay changes are processed accurately and on time.
  • Manage leave of absence programs (short-term, long-term, FMLA) and applicable third-party administrators to include assurance HR representatives are informed appropriately and advised on employee leave requests and approvals.
  • Participate as an active member and administrator of the Pension and 401(k) Fiduciary Committee to review and provide recommendations in the best interest of employees and the business.  
  • In collaboration with the HRIS team, develop and implement initiatives to improve total rewards workflow, efficiency, and reporting with the HRIS system.
  • Foster a team focused on customer service, resolve escalated employee issues and ensure delivery of high-quality support to HR, managers and employees.
  • Communicate effectively throughout the organization utilizing effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism as it pertains to all job responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Some travel may be required, estimate 10% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent 10+ years experience in related field.  
  • 5+ years total rewards supervisory experience.
  • Deep knowledge of total reward strategies, trends, regulations, policies, and best practices. Global benefit experience a plus.   
  • Experienced in executive compensation strategies.
  • Experienced in developing, gaining approval, and managing total rewards budgets and effective vendor management.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams)
  • Workday HCM experience a plus.  
  • Proven effective hands-on leadership experience balanced with an ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively with experience in developing and delivering large scale projects and change initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Display effective presentation and communication skills including the ability to successfully represent data and ideas, present flow charts, give good work instructions and training.  
  • Detail oriented with analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with ability to translate technical analysis into executive presentations  
  • Possess the confidence and skills to manage stakeholders and multi-disciplinary onsite and virtual team relationships.
