Job Description

The Compensation Analyst assists the Director, Compensation and Benefits with designing and managing compensation programs for BlueScope North America. 

The Compensation Analyst will be expected to analyze data and use results to consult with management and Human Resources teams to assist the company in attracting, motivating, and retaining top talent.

This role will support annual compensation planning, promotional and merit increases, establishing compensation guidelines, and variable compensation programs - including commissions and various bonus pay programs.

It is expected the Compensation Analyst will be familiar with using external market data to ensure BlueScope pay equity is market competitive.

Key Competencies include:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of HRIS such as Workday
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to set and achieve goals and deadlines
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication, consulting, presentation and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 years of experience managing compensation programs
  • 4 years of experience managing retirement programs
  • Working knowledge of regulations such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree specific to Human Resource or Business
  • CCP certification
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting
