Job Description

The Software Development group creates and supports the customer facing software applications and solutions. The department applies best practices and innovative technology to stakeholder and business issues to find solutions that maximize investment value.

The Software Quality Analyst IV is a single incumbent role which ensures quality solutions are delivered through common testing and quality assurance practices and assists to develop, establish, and enforce quality assurance standards and measures for information technology services within the organization. As a Lead, the Software Quality Analyst IV assists IS Application Managers to ensure established quality assurance processes are followed by Quality Analysts throughout the course of software development lifecycles and guides and trains QA counterparts to achieve consistent QA processes across all development teams and initiatives. They also apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives

  • Creates test cases and scripts to expose defects with software of high technical complexity developed by the software development group.
  • Leads and performs formal integration and regression testing on all levels of technicalcomplexity and works with software development team to ensure a quality solution is delivered.

  • Communicates clearly in both written and verbal communications specific test results that provide actionable feedback to technical teams and management on testing result

  • Proactively researches, learns, and applies new testing technology and methods to performtesting and other software quality activities.

  • Leads and mentors skilled professionals, both regular and contractor, engaged in softwarequality assurance testing practices, techniques, and tools.

  • Leads and performs formal test automation including mentoring Quality Assurance Analystsin test automation practices, techniques, and tools.

  • Works with development managers to determine and disseminate quality standards andpractices and ensure team members are following the standards and practices established.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • ·Associates degree or 2 additional years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 years of software quality assurance experience writing and executing functional and regression testing
  • 3 years of experience writing scripts for automated software testing tools
  • 1 year of experience leading other QA professionals
  • 2 years of professional experience making QA process, tool, and technique decisions

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years of professional QA experience writing and executing functional and regression testing
  • 5+ years of experience writing scripts for automated software testing tools
  • 2+ years leading QA professionals
