Job Description

he System Administrator I maintains in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. The Administrator may also implement and maintain policies, documentation, and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Troubleshoot in order to identify root cause and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, and applications. Escalate incidents as necessary with vendors
  • Schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and configuration
  • Support regional IT teams, problem solve local plant and regional systems permissions, and user and device management
  • Develop and implement communications to end users and IT team related to system changes by utilizing the identified change management process (CAB)
  • Document systems and processes within the Infrastructures department
  • Fulfill disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the company and assist with plans for other corporate business units
  • Manage and maintain an environment that meets current security needs
  • Create required reporting on metrics in response to business needs
  • Participate in and support capacity planning with end-users and department managers

Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in System Administration or 4 additional years of related experience in lieu of degree
  • 2 years of system administration experience in the following areas:
    • Storage area networks
    • Linux administration
    • Data backup systems
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Microsoft O365
    • Microsoft Azure
    • VMWare
    • Citrix
    • Local and Wide Area Networks

Preferred: 

  • 5 years of system administration experience
  • Certifications appropriate to role
