Job Description

The Technical & Process Trainer develops and implements learning solutions to improve employee technical capabilities of the processes and systems required for Project Clarifiers to perform their roles.

  • Assist with training course design for Project Clarifiers by creating technical content for the course to ensure desired objectives are met, along with assuring adherence to engineering standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of Engineering standards, policies, and procedures
  • Facilitate training for Project Clarifiers on Engineering and Builder Services systems and processes (e.g., Vision, Advantage, BlueScope Project, and other related Engineering programs).  Training platforms include traditional face-to-face, virtual classroom/webinars, e-learning, and micro-learning solutions.
  • Post training provide functional, technical, and process guidance as requested by IT and trained users
  • Participate in user acceptance testing on Engineering systems for adherence to product, process, and functionality across a large enterprise network environment, and report defects and change requests to the IT development team.
  • Work with Engineering and Builder Services frontline leaders to determine training needs and priority level
  • Facilitate, motivate and support other Trainers, and LSCs to guide monthly communication meetings
  • Act as a liaison between engineering groups, Engineering systems development, and Product Excellence teams for defining and prioritizing systems and product changes

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 2 year technical degree in Architecture, Drafting, or 2 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of degree  
  • 5 years of pre-engineered building (PEB) or conventional steel experience
  • 5 years of experience with technical documentation of Engineering and construction processes
  • 4 years of experience as an internal Project Clarifier
  • Proficient in all Project Clarifier tools and software such as Vision, Advantage, Compass, PIM, and BlueScope Project
  • Proficient in internal Project Clarifier processes and procedures; contract management, change order management, order clarification, BMR, Advanced Tentative Materials, and communication with builders
  • Knowledge of building products 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, Business or related field
  • 10+ years of pre-engineered building (PEB) or conventional steel experience
  • LMS administration experience
  • Course authoring software experience, Articulate 360 background
  • Virtual classroom platform experience, such as Adobe Connect, WebEx, Go-to-Training
  • 5+ years of experience with Software Evaluation and Testing
  • 5+ years of Project Technician experience
