Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Customer Service Department by assisting with customer service representative back up coverage, order entry, generating and updating reports, helping customers with advice on order status, follow up with other departments on late orders along with coil clean up and quotations.

  • Be proficient in Steelscape product offerings, capabilities, and operational procedures to assist in customer service representative back up coverage.
  • Taking orders from customers and input into order management software following POM, policy, and procedure, including order confirmation process.
  • Provides assistance in generating, updating and loading customer reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Performs follow-up activities on, proof reading orders, held coils, order clarification, delayed shipments, and other tasks as assigned, timely and consistently; documenting results, and follow-up actions; effectively coordinating / communicating with various internal departments to answer questions, provide clarification or clean up orders or coils.
  • Assist customer service and account managers by updating or generating quotes using the web quote system.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.  Identify, quantify/recommend, and take an active role in improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of Customer Service or front office experience
  • Proficient use of office machinery including copier and scanner
  • Solid command of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Team player
  • Highly motivated with a desire to be successful

Preferred:

  • SAP Knowledge
