ASC Building Products has operations in Anchorage, Alaska; Salem, Oregon; Spokane, Washington; and Sacramento, California.

Job Description

The primary purpose of the Outside Sales Representative (OSR) is to maintain and create customer business relationships through customer education, strategy implementation, plan implementation and sales promotions which are all aligned with business plans/strategies. The purpose of this position is to maintain and develop customer relations in order to sell ASC Profiles Product and meet sales goals established by Outside Sales Rep and the business unit. The OSR supports a culture of high performance, trust, sales and business excellence that will return lucrative results for the company. The OSR also implements strategies to increase financial results, maintaining continuous growth in customer accounts and service. 

  • Develops new sales opportunities with customers in defined channels and segments.  Main customer contacts for ASC Building Products will be lumber yards and/or distributors for ASC Building Products. 

  • Builds relationships with current accounts and customers in assigned territory.

  • Achieve assigned sales territory objectives through steering effort to profitable products and profitable customers by maximizing promotion and sales activity.
  • Manages entire sales process in assigned territory, including forecasting, pricing, quotes, inquiries, follow up and closing of sales.

  • Generates incremental volume in conjunction with inside and outside sales efforts, including marketing new and existing products.

  • Partners with sales peers on open bid work to drive further development and closure.

  • Proactively researches and assesses market trends and utilizes information to drive growth in assigned territory.

  • Builds and maintains a database of prospective clients/projects using CRM(Salesforce).

  • Tracks and reports market trends/intelligence using CRM(Salesforce).

  • Promotes, trains and supports customers on ASC BP eCommerce site

  • Provide internal customer service support regarding quotes, orders, installation and/or product inquiries from end users.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry news, trends and initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • College degree or combined years of experience preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in an outside sales or business development role.
  • Experience with channel, distributor and/or corporate account sales.

Preferred:

  • Able to read and understand blueprints/project drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of ASC Building Products and AEP Span products and specifications.
  • CRM Experience; SalesForce preferred.
  • Experience in the construction or building materials industry is strongly preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Car travel within the territory 50% of the time.
