Job Description

The Strategic Planning Manager leads and executes process improvements of the accounting functions.  This position is also responsible for leading the demand planning function of the organization with a focus on optimizing inventory levels.

In charge of process improvements in accounting functions:

  • Improve current processes of the transactions group and work along with IT to automate these as much as possible these transactions.
  • Improve how information for margin analysis is managed (i.e., freight cost).
  • This person will be in charge of integrating acquired companies regarding accounting functions.
  • This person will be in charge of the definition of requirements for new systems and implementations (i.e., new ERP)
  • Lead demand planning process to optimize inventory levels, by considering market prices trend and projections. 

Define target inventory level by commodities.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust demand planning model including information from the buy-plan, sales forecast, actual inbound and outbound volume month-to-date, and to forecast inventory levels and variances against the target. 
  • Facilitate weekly Demand Planning meetings and collaborate.
  • Work closely with purchasing teams for the execution of the plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or equivalent focus
  • MBA degree
  • 10+ years of experience in managerial roles in Finance.
  • Robust experience in process improvements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ERP system process and key system functions related to demand planning, master scheduling and inventory management
