Job Description

The Senior IT Internal Auditor serves all of the company’s North American businesses and is critical in achieving Internal Audit’s vision to be:

·       Valued and sought after by management to facilitate change and provide objective assurance to help improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes; and,

·       A valued development ground for future leaders.

The Senior IT Auditor designs, plans, and implements IT audit programs taking into consideration risk assessments.

Primary Duties include:

Help drive a consistently effective Internal Audit service delivery to the business by:

  • Executing internal audit projects in line with the agreed annual internal audit plan
  • Developing, maintaining, and demonstrating a solid understanding of the Company’s business model, risks and operating environment
  • Applying historical learnings and pragmatic IT and commercial thinking when scoping and delivering projects
  • Working collaboratively with other assurance providers to engage stakeholders in line with expectations.

Develop and support self and the broader internal audit team by:

  • Undertaking appropriate professional development activities
  • Actively coaching on and off the job. Providing and seeking constructive, honest feedback and demonstrating an active interest in personal broader career development and professional aspirations
  • Contributing to a strong performance management culture to maximize the contribution of all staff and focus on continuous development

Help support continuous improvement of the internal audit function by:

  • Developing and modelling a solid understanding of internal audit’s mandate, plans and activities
  • Identifying, developing, and implementing internal audit initiatives and innovations (organization, processes and systems)

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 3 years of experience in IT auditing, either public or internal
  • Strong knowledge of and experience supervising and executing IT audit-oriented projects based on proven project management and testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of auditing standards (IPPF, COBIT, COSO, etc.)
  • Knowledge of specific IT frameworks/models such as ITIL, ISO 2000, (Cyber: NIST,CIS, or ISO 27001)
  • Data analytics experience in SQL, ACL, IDEA, Power BI, or other software
  • Experience assessing internal controls, risks, and business processes, as well as developing audit programs to address those assessments
  • Experience working in similar roles in a major corporation.

Preferred:

  • Membership and qualifications from relevant professional bodies (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA)
  • Other post graduate studies
  • 5+ years of experience in IT auditing, either public or internal
  • Experience working with manufacturing
