Job Description

Manufacturing Supply and Logistics provides leadership and assistance in developing materials, logistics and manufacturing strategies to achieve the business plan for all regions with eight strategically located manufacturing facilities in North America and numerous outsource fabricators and suppliers.

The Logistics Engineer supports the analytical and technical design of all logistical processes and systems utilized within the manufacturing locations, including Warehouse, Yard, and Traffic departments.  The Engineer also provides analytical support for carrier management and negotiations.

  • Manages the design and implementation of major projects and continuous improvement initiatives within Logistics, Shipping, and Traffic across BlueScope Buildings
  • Ensure processes are in place and followed, ensure processes are mapped and measured, develops process improvement objectives, and facilitates process improvement activities
  • Generates and analyses monthly reporting of freight costs and oversees maintenance of freight cost
  • Provides analytical support for carrier management and negotiations
  • Manages and resolves carrier claims for damage or shortage of material, in coordination with Project Managers and plant Shipping departments
  • Supports the direct relationships and professional development within logistics teams across BlueScope Buildings manufacturing sites
  • Actively leads and participates in continuous improvement and correction action activities

Qualifications

Minimum:       

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Logistics or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Proven track record of high performance
  • Experience with Process Mapping
  • Experience performing Root Cause Analysis

Preferred:       

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
