The Information Systems department provides the tools and automation to store, organize and manipulate data while making that data easily retrievable.  Various hardware and software tools, along with support, combine to enable these functions in a cost effective method that helps to increase efficiency and accuracy.

The Security Administrator’s role is to ensure the secure operations of the in-house computer systems, servers, network systems, and cloud instances. This includes checking security systems logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting. This person will also analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required.

• Manage and maintain all security systems and their corresponding or associated software,  including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, log management, cryptography systems, and endpoint security agents (i.e., anti-virus software.) 
• Responds and investigate security incidents and coordinates with IT teams to isolate and mitigate incidents..
• Support and provide system administrator guidance for vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Monitor security systems logs, alert notifications, and network traffic for suspicious behaviors.
• Consult with system administrators, staff, and managers about best security practices and provide security technical advice.
• Design, implement, and report on security system, vulnerability remediation, and end user activity audits. 
• Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts. 

Minimum:

• · High school diploma or equivalent.
• · 2 years of IT Support or related experience such as SOC Analyst, or Security Administration

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent
• Information Security Management qualifications such as CompTIA SEC+, CASP, or associated certifications related to system administration.
• 4 years of experience in information security administration, incident handling or related functions
