Job Description

A Technical & Process Trainer has the responsibility to develop and implement learning solutions to improve employee technical capabilities of the processes and systems required for Engineering Technicians to perform their jobs with BBNA.

  • Assist with training course design for Engineering Technicians by creating technical content for the course to ensure desired objectives are meet along with assuring adherence to engineering standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of Engineering standards, policies and procedures
  • Facilitate training for Engineering Technicians on Engineering and Builder Services systems and processes (e.g. Vision, Advantage, VPC, and other related Engineering programs).  Training platforms will include traditional face-to-face, virtual classroom/webinars, e-learning and micro-learning solutions
  • Participate in user acceptance testing on Engineering systems for adherence to product, process, and functionality across a large enterprise network environment, and report back defects and change requests to the IT development team
  • Work with Engineering and Builder Services Frontline Leaders to determine training needs and priority level
  • Post training provide functional, technical, and process guidance as requested by IT and trained users
  • Facilitate, motivate and support other Trainers, LSCs and Regional Trainers to guide monthly communication meetings
  • Act as a liaison between engineering groups, Engineering systems development, and Product Excellence teams for defining and prioritizing systems and product changes

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Associate Degree or 2-year Technical degree in lieu of degree 6 years of relevant experience
  • 6 years of experience as an Engineering Technician
  • 5 years of experience with Technical Documenting of processes
  • 5 years involved with Software Evaluation and Testing
  • Proficient in all detailing tools and software for BBNA; Vision, TEKLA, AutoCAD, Detailing Tool
  • Proficient all BBNA Detailing processes and procedures; Manufacturing capabilities, Advanced Tentative Materials, release to manufacturing, Manufacturing Shop Drawings, Erection Drawings, custom detailing processes
  • Proficient in all BBNA building products 

Preferred:

  • 10 years of pre-engineered building (PEB) or conventional steel experience
  • LXP or LMS administration
  • Instructional design certification
  • Course authoring software experience, Articulate 360 preferred
  • Virtual classroom platform experience, such as WebEx and Go-to-Training

Skills & Competencies:

  • Presentation Skills - Proven experience delivering course content via virtual classroom or traditional classroom along with proven experience developing course content for differentiated training platforms
  • Strong communication skills and experience (social media, multi-media, written, oral presentations)
  • Experience in developing and managing strong internal and external customer relationships
  • MS Office 365 advanced experience (Including PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word and Excel)
  • Sizing up People
  • Technical Learning
  • Understanding Others
  • Proficiency with MS O365 Apps such as OneNote, SharePoint
  • Strong proficiency with BBNA platforms such as Vision, PIM, Compass, and nVision (Future)
  • Excellent oral and written skills
