Legal Counsel provides proactive, value-added advice on legal solutions to business objectives and assists in the development and execution of the company’s legal team strategy. They solve problems creatively and identify practical alternatives to address legal obstacles and mitigate risk. Legal Counsel also educates and communicates applicable laws and corporate policies.

• Provide transaction support including contract review, drafting, and negotiation.
• Assist in the implementation of company governance frameworks applicable to all businesses.
• Assist in the execution of the company’s legal team focus initiatives.
• Structure and manage legal function and staff for BlueScope Construction division.
• Provide additional legal support and assistance to per company’s Chief Legal Counsel.

Minimum:

• J.D., State Bar License
• 5 years of experience in commercial and/or construction law.

Preferred:

• 8+ years of experience in commercial and/or construction law.
• 2+ years of in-house counsel experience.
