Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Trouble shoots, dismantles, inspects, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, services and adjusts all types of plant equipment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

1.      Use mechanical skills to install, maintain and repair production equipment

2.      Troubleshoot potential equipment failures such as hydraulics, drive trains, and gear boxes.

3.      Read, understand and explain blueprints and technical documents.

4.      Operate machine and hand tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders.

5.      Proficient working knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, rigging, welding, crane equipment.

6.      Safely operate forklifts and radio-controlled overhead cranes.

7.      Trouble shoots any electrical problem from 110-440 volts and makes necessary repairs.

8.      Proficient operation of machine and hand tools such as lathes, drill presses and grinders.

9.      Set-up, calibrate equipment, and adjust machinery.

10.    Perform preventative/predictive maintenance duties such as Thermography, oil analysis and inspections to keep plant equipment serviced and running correctly.

11.    Assists in the Planning of shutdown and ability to direct activities including manpower requirements

12.    Cleans up after repairs to ensure safe and orderly operation of plant equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Experience & Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).  Former training and experience in the millwright trade. 

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Able to understand detailed instructions, provide simple instructions and communicate clearly with people.  Basic math skills required. Advanced skills such algebra and geometry may also be required.

Key Relationships

Critical to the success of this role is the ability to deliver outcomes through productive relationships with others include: Works in cooperation with the maintenance crew under the coordination of a Team Coordinator.  Takes direct supervision from the Area Manager, Maintenance Planner and/or Shift Supervisor.
