Steelscape, LLC is a national supplier of metallic-coated and pre-painted steel. Job Description

To perform all required maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to Steelscape’s mobile equipment. Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for forklifts, track mobile, tug, trailers, and support equipment. Additionally, role will train under skilled millwrights to learn and perform aspects of that trade. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Use mechanical and electrical skills to maintain and repair mobile equipment
  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance duties such as oil analysis, and inspections.
  • Develop preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment
  • Understand propane, gas and diesel fuel systems
  • Must be able to rebuild power train components ( engines, transmissions and differentials)
  • Troubleshoot potential equipment failures such as hydraulics, drive trains and gear boxes.
  • Create BOM and Storeroom items for equipment
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, rigging, welding, crane equipment.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Required Experience & Qualifications

  • High school graduate or have a G.E.D
  • A minimum of four years filed experience in industrial mobile equipment repair

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • A.A. in Mechanics/ Mobile Mechanics

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret work related instructions, policies, safety documents, correspondence, bulletins and memos.
  • Ability to write documents such as reports, incident investigations, meeting minutes and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information to others in the organization.
  • Ability to clearly communicate over the phone, radio or P. A. systems.
  • Ability to perform repairs to OEM specifications
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment. Must be self motivated, self directing, and organized.
  • Ability to work with vendors to determine best solutions for repairing lifts.
  • Ability to work on mobile lifts ranging from 4,000# to 70,000#.
  • Ability to Read, understand and explain schematics and technical documents
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and radio controlled overhead cranes.

Working Conditions/Special Notes

  • Ability to regularly reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to frequently stand/sit for long periods, walk long distances on cement floors, climb multiple flights of stairs and ladders, talk and hear.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical examination
