Job Description

Roof Runner Operations provides and maintains Roof Runner MR24 panel seamers for builders. The department processes lease orders from builders and ships Roof Runner seamer equipment to them.  The department maintains and repairs the Roof Runners to keep them in top operating condition.  They also enter lease orders for the VSR II Panel Seamer and sell panel seaming accessories to builders.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain Roof Runner Seamer Machines; which includes inspecting internal components of Seamer machine and replacing worn or damaged components.  Equipment used includes; grinder, end mill, machine lathe, and paint equipment.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties, including processing data entry transactions.
  • Provide technical support and customer service to builders.
  • Use appropriate precision measuring tools to test and calibrate seamer pressure cams.
  • Use electrical testing equipment to test and repair electrical motors.
  • Use welder to weld to weld aluminum wheel casting.
  • Operate mobile equipment and lifting devices to transport material and equipment as needed.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
  • Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency

Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications

  • 2 year Technical or Associates Degree
  • 1+ years of relevant experience operating machine shop equipment
  • Customer Service experience

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality
  • Capable of watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
  • Mathematics ability
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Mobile Equipment Operation – may require ability to use overhead crane, hoist and/or forklift
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good Customer Service skills
