Job Description
The Staff Accountant is a key player in close, audit, reconciliations and journal creation. The Staff position will assist with project based departmental improvement initiatives. This includes assisting with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) upgrades and implementations and increasing efficiencies in reporting and month end processes. Support department controls functions with creation of AP suppliers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and complete month end entries accurately throughout the month
Complete reconciliations in accordance with company policy
Assist with Shared Service projects and improvements as assigned
Prepare audit workpapers as assigned
Accurately create and maintain new vendor records in support of Accounts Payable
Assist general accounting team with compilation of data and reporting as assigned
Maintain requested data entry for Government reporting sites
Maintain schedules in support of Journal entry calculations
Assist department in organizational efforts and documentation of processes
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Accounting and two years' experience in accounting environment
Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Experience with a large ERP system, preferably Oracle
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

- Written and Oral communication skills
