The Downspout Line Operator is responsible for the shift production requirements to fabricate trim components requiring press braking. This requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.  Must have the ability to read and understand work instructions, assignments, drawings and reference material and be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Computer operation 
• Brake components for production use.
• Stack completed parts in a safe manner and move to holding racks.
• Moving parts using prescribed equipment.
• Dimensional inspect product using a protractor.
• Maintain production reports as required.
• Perform daily maintenance checks.
• Ensure production meets all quality assurance standards.
• Provides routine and preventive maintenance, as required, on assigned equipment.
• Moves finished parts to storage area.
• Operates overhead cranes, using spreader bars, chain and other various under hook devices. 
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math and convert fractions into decimals.
• Follow all safety and operating instructions.
• Follow all quality methods and standards.
• Problem solving.
• Responsible for daily housekeeping to the equipment and work area.
• All other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level 

Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Basic computer skills
• Mechanical -- knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Production and Processing – knowledge of raw materials and production processes
• Quality Control Analysis – able to conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality 
• Operation Monitoring – capable of watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• Mathematics ability
• Ability to read blueprints
• Mobile Equipment Operation – may require ability to use overhead crane, hoist and/or forklift
