The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technical Coordinator to join the MCL Maintenance team at Springhill. This is a key day shift role that provides technical leadership and coordination across mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of our plant and equipment.

While this role has no direct reports, you will work closely with maintenance, operations and engineering teams, providing technical support, coordinating maintenance activities and driving reliability improvement initiatives that contribute to plant performance and operational excellence.

As part of a collaborative and experienced team, you'll have the opportunity to implement strategies, lead improvement projects and make a real impact on the success of our manufacturing operations.

Monday – Friday Dayshift + Overtime Available

What Will You Do?

Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will:

  • coordinate and provide technical support across mechanical maintenance activities
  • identify, develop and deliver reliability improvement projects for critical plant equipment
  • provide technical expertise in root cause analysis, defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives
  • support maintenance planning, down day activities and shutdown execution
  • collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to improve plant performance
  • assist with the development of maintenance systems, asset strategies and best practice maintenance processes
  • promote a strong safety culture and ensure maintenance activities are completed in line with BlueScope's safety standards and expectations.

More About You

You will bring:

  • a Mechanical Trade qualification or Engineering qualification
  • experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, steel, mining or a similar asset-intensive environment
  • demonstrated maintenance and reliability experience
  • strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
  • experience leading improvement initiatives and managing maintenance projects
  • knowledge of maintenance planning, asset management and reliability principles
  • the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple teams
  • a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
