The Opportunity
The Product Innovation & Technology Team at our Port Kembla site is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist to join us on a 12‑month fixed term contract. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
This is an exciting time to join the team, with the opportunity to work hands‑on with our knowledge management systems, processes, and tools, while also playing a key role in shaping and implementing new processes and ideas that support innovation across the business.

What Will You Do?
As the Knowledge Management Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and improving our technical knowledge management systems and services. More specifically, you will:
- facilitate the capture, storage, and appropriate dissemination of core research, product, and process development knowledge
- lead continuous improvement initiatives across knowledge management tools, systems, and processes
- work closely with Information Technology and Digital teams to enhance system capability and usability
- provide value‑add technical and business search services to Product Innovation & Technology and the broader BlueScope technical community
- manage and administer access to proprietary technical databases and standards (including Standards Australia, ASTM, ISO and others)
- support company‑wide records and archiving management processes
- ensure all work is delivered safely and in line with business plans, policies, and regulatory requirements
More About You
You are someone who enjoys working at the intersection of people, systems, and information, and you bring a structured yet curious approach to improving how knowledge is managed and shared. You’ll bring:
- tertiary qualifications in Information Science, Information Management, Information Services, Communications, Media, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- demonstrated experience working with knowledge or information management systems
- advanced capability with Confluence, Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint Online
- strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- a collaborative style, with the confidence to work across diverse stakeholder groups
