The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Process Controller in our Energy Services Operations team based in the Energy Centre. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
To ensure the continuous reliability of the Energy and Utilities across our site, this role is essential in providing supervision to the automated control systems. When unplanned conditions arise, you’ll be called upon to provide insight and expertise. Success in this role will grow from using process and experience to make the necessary adjustments to the plant and process parameters, contributing to the quality of these systems and the overall the safety of our people, plant and equipment.
This opportunity works rotating Day/Night 12hr shifts, 7 days a week.
What Will You Do?
With a keen interest to grow and develop yourself, you’ll actively participate and support the Energy Services Operations. You will also:
- monitor and manage the plant and equipment to assist and support the production of site Energy and Utilities
- maximize energy efficiency of site indigenous fuels, Natural Gas usage and electricity generation
- utilise your dedicated technical focus to investigate and resolve plant and process faults
- work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve the efficiency of Energy Services
- assist with improving work and safety standards and environmental systems by developing new practices and procedures

- qualifications or experience in manufacturing, mining, gas, control operations, engineering, science, materials
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
- high attention to detail and the ability to multitask in an (at times) high pressure environment
- a continuous drive in improving procedures and process
- an ability to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling and people demands
