Western Port Manufacturing facility is looking for Team Members for Operations teams at Hastings. As part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing departments at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

With no previous experience needed, we’ll provide you with all the on-the-job training and support you need to develop you in your new career. This Talent Community will open doors to vacancies across all departments as they become available over the subsequent 6 -12 months.
The Opportunity
Team Members undertake important processing work that requires a safety focus, an eye for detail and plays an integral role in producing our high-quality steel products for our customers, ensuring that only the finest quality is delivered on time, every time. Operations work can include operating a gantry crane and forklift, controlling our new state of the art processing equipment or loading and dispatching our world-class products to customers. Some of these positions may require lifting and manual handling, and exposure to heat, heights, and noise. We ensure that all our employees are supported with the necessary training and equipment to complete all tasks safely.
Team Members work a variety of 8 to 12-hour shift patterns, including a combination of day, afternoon, and night shift. Depending on the department, our operations run 24 hours, 7 days a week, or 24 hours, 5 days a week. Some of these positions may require you to work weekends, overtime, and across public holidays. Our Information Night will provide further detail around the specifics and shift patterns available.

What Will You Do?
Working within a collaborative team environment, you’ll receive ongoing training and support to learn to:
- support and promote a safe working environment
- operate machinery to process and manufacture our products
- safely pack and strap our steel products and monitor products for quality control
- drive forklifts and operate cranes

While previous operations or manufacturing experience isn’t needed, what we care about is your enthusiasm to learn new skills and go above and beyond for your fellow team members. We’re on the lookout for team players who:

Recruitment Process
Submit your application; complete an online assessment; attend an online Information Night on 9 October 2024 ; attend one of our face-to-face Group Activity and Interview Sessions between 29 – 30 October 2024; attend a site tour and complete pre-employment reference and medical checks (including a drug and alcohol screen); during week commencing 4 November 2024.
