Job Description

Job Description

BlueScope is an Australian-born, global success story, spanning 18 countries, with a team of over 15,000 people. We’re driven by innovation and are proud that the technologies in our products and brands, like COLORBOND® steel, inspire and protect everything from hospitals and bridges to stadiums and homes.

The Opportunity

Join our newly established BlueScope Distribution site in Unanderra as a Team Member. The National Product, Processing & Solutions Hub is BlueScope Distribution’s new capability.  It enables us to provide our customers with a unique domestically co-coordinated supply chain solution for the delivery of large-scale projects nation-wide.

The Hub has been built with high-spec and automated equipment so we can deliver complex value-add solutions that meet our customer needs – now and into the future. We’re proud to be investing in and growing manufacturing capability within Australia that enables our customers to deliver significant and critical projects for our communities across renewables, infrastructure, defence and mining, oil and gas.

We're currently at the peak of expansion of the business and we are offering multiple full time permanent opportunities. Positions will commence from July 2024, with more opportunities arising over the subsequent 6 months.

Our Team Members come from all walks of life and occupations. We genuinely value the contribution of every Team Member, bringing diverse skills, experience, and backgrounds. We’ll provide you with all the on-the-job training and support you need to develop you in your new career as a Team Member, allowing for future career development opportunities. We’ll make sure that you’re supported with all the necessary ongoing training and equipment to complete these tasks safely.

Lead a balanced work life through our Monday – Friday shifts where you either work day shift (6am – 2pm) or afternoon shift ( 2pm- 10pm). These are fixed shifts which allow you to plan ahead and maintain balance in your lifestyle choices.

What Will You Do?

In a supportive team environment, you'll receive ongoing training to learn how to:

  • promote and maintain a safe working environment
  • ensure quality control by packing, strapping, and monitoring our steel products
  • drive forklifts and operate cranes to load and unload trucks for customer delivery
  • operate machinery for product processing

More About You

Previous operations or manufacturing experience is not required, what we care about is your enthusiasm to learn new skills and to go above and beyond for your fellow team members. We're looking for individuals who:

  • prioritize safety
  • have a strong desire and willingness to learn and develop themselves
  • are flexible, adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • respect others and value diversity and inclusion
  • understand basic measurement units
