The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Energy Services Asset Development Team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

As a skilled Mechanical Tradesperson, you will perform maintenance to our plant assets as required, while also being directly involved with the planning of maintenance in conjunction with our maintenance coordinators. 

What Will You Do?

In a role that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products, you will:

• isolate equipment and perform maintenance   
• inspect quality critical equipment and fault find
• plan and organise for shutdowns via our maintenance management system
• contribute to the team with out of hours support as required
• seek ways to continuously improve our maintenance strategies

 More About You

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you’ll enjoy taking ownership for your work and contributing to the larger team. You will bring:

• mechanical fitter/machinist qualifications consisting of either a Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma.
• experience in a heavy industrial environment
• exposure to maintenance management systems and/or basic computer skills
• an enthusiasm to learn new skills and develop yourself in the role
