The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Springhill AGV (Automated Guidance Vehicle) Asset Management Team team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Electrical Maintenance Coordinator. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
What is an AGV? (Automated Guidance Vehicle) are material handling systems or load carriers that travel autonomously throughout a warehouse, distribution centre, or manufacturing facility, without an onboard operator or driver which ensures continuous streamline production required at our Springhill manufacturing departments.
In this newly created role, you will coordinate and execute routine maintenance work, whilst attending to electrical challenges on the multiple Automated Guidance Vehicles across our Springhill departments, while also coordinating trade personnel and contractors to deliver a cost-effective, quality focused and flexible maintenance function.

What Will You Do?
As the electrical maintenance coordinator, you will:
- take a hands-on approach to the supervision of the day-to-day management of AGV maintenance activities, including planning, organising, executing, reviewing maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
- coordinate and provide technical support to the maintenance resources within the section
- coach, mentor and develop maintenance personnel in manufacturing excellence principles and process, particularly around root cause and problem analysis and the development and execution of corrective actions
- participate in cost reduction and capital upgrade projects
- respond to the day-to-day electrical availability and reliability issues
More About You
As an experienced electrician, you will have sound leadership experience, work effectively in cross-functional groups, and thrive in a team environment. You will also have:
- electrical trade qualifications, or an advanced diploma in electrical engineering
- an Electrical licence
- experience working with DC motor drives
- experience with the maintenance of automated equipment & PLC’s
- demonstrated leadership experience
experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
