The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Hot Strip Mill team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Mechanical Maintenance Officer. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this hands-on position within the Hot Strip Mill Asset Team, you will deliver a quality, cost effective and flexible maintenance service for the department. You will improve equipment performance and reliability by understanding plant and equipment condition and then implementing corrective actions to restore as required.

What Will You do?

You will mentor and lead apprentices and other team members. You will provide technical advice and support to ensure both planned work and breakdowns are completed with a focus on safety, environment and quality of work. You will:

• provide technical advice on equipment and technology
• inspect and understand the condition of all plant and equipment in your section
• plan, organise and oversee the execution of maintenance activities

A self-motivated individual, you will demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement, while displaying a high level of initiative and energy.

You will have:

• mechanical trade qualifications
• extensive maintenance experience
• demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• effective communication and interpersonal skills
