The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Design Solutions Team team in our BlueScope Building Components business as a Draftsperson/Detailer, initially in a 12 month fixed-term contract. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.

Our design solutions team plays a key role in our project pipeline, creating and designing project specific content our sales team can present to Builders, Engineers, Architects and designers when pitching for projects.  You'll be involved in large scale bespoke projects, that are landmark pieces across Australia.  Having expertise in industry specifics software, in this role you will be shaping the future of the Australia's urban landscape.   

What Will You Do?

As someone with an eye for detail and design, you'll play a key role in our business winning major projects.  You'll be involved in:

  • drafting and detailing of the products once specified to complete large scale bespoke projects
  • modelling of BlueScope specific products in industry specific software 
  • driving the implementation of BlueScope product specified projects with fabricators and installers and builders to ensure they are delivered successfully
  • contributing to strategy for growth of specialty products and brands   
  • presenting content to internal stakeholders and external groups - Builders, Engineers, Architects, Designers

More About You

Being passionate about producing quality work and sharing ideas, with solid experience in the drafting space, you will have;

  • strong proficiency in AutoCAD
  • experience using Revit, Inventor or similar 3D modelling software
  • efficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • sound knowledge of construction principles 
  • a Diploma of Building Design/Engineering
