The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Hot Mills Engineering team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Electrical Engineer. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

Working Monday to Friday on a permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary including 14% superannuation, annual profit share plan (bonus), have access to a number of health & wellbeing initiatives including our EAP provider, fitness passport, and access to formal and informal training to develop your experience.

What Will You Do?

Working with multi-disciplinary teams, you will be involved in of both the delivery of capital projects, and long-term asset development work.  You will provide technical expertise in areas such as design, power systems, drives, control systems, equipment selection and technology improvement identification. You will help develop modern engineering solutions while improving manufacturing capability and efficiency. 

You will:

  • provide electrical engineering support for the day to day operations of the plant
  • investigate and implement process improvement projects
  • deliver continuous improvement outcomes to support the production and supply of our products

More About You

You will have experience in facilitating engineering design, tender, supply, construction and commissioning. You will also have:

  • a degree qualification in electrical engineering
  • experience with automation systems, PLC, HMI, DCS & SCADA
  • experience with low voltage distribution systems and motor controls
  • experience with variable speed drives and closed-loop control systems 
  • sound technical problem solving and trouble shooting skills
