The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Painting and Finishing Maintenance team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Combustion Equipment Maintenance Coordinator. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this key role, you will utilise your comprehensive mechanical or process knowledge to coordinate maintenance activities and improvement initiatives for our ovens and combustion equipment situated at our Springhill Number 3 Paint Line Maintenance department.

What Will You Do?

As the Combustion maintenance coordinator, you will:

  • supervise the day-to-day management of plant maintenance activities, including planning, organising, execution and review of maintenance
  • coordinate and provide technical support to the maintenance resources within the section
  • participate in cost reduction and capital upgrade projects
  • respond to the day-to-day Combustion /mechanical availability and reliability issue
  • adhere to BlueScope Steel’s HSEC expectations and instil these safety principles throughout the maintenance organisation

More About You

As an enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will bring your experience and demonstrate a willingness to develop your skills. You will also bring:

  • tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Trade or have a Process Engineering background
  • experience working in a similar industry within mechanical maintenance or process engineering, with a focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability
  • a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
  • experience with Microsoft suite, 1SAP, & PLC Automation equipment
