Come and discover the opportunity to join our Coil Processing Centre (Service Centre) at our Western Port Manufacturing facility as a Process Team Member. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing departments at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

The Opportunity

No prior operations experience needed! Are you ready for something new? Want to work in a new and modern high-tech facility? We’ll provide you with all the on-the-job training and support you may need to develop you in your new career as a Team Member.

Team Members undertake important processing work that requires an eye for detail and plays an integral role in producing our high-quality steel products for our customers, ensuring that only the finest quality is delivered on time, every time.  Processing work can include operating a gantry crane and forklift, controlling our new state of the art processing equipment or loading and dispatching our world-class products to customers.

Some of these positions will require lifting and manual movement of product depending on role requirements. We ensure all our employees are equipped with all the necessary equipment and training to complete these tasks safely.     

Our team member roles are available for a January 2023 start.  With us you'll have access to various health and wellbeing initiatives including Employment Assistance Program, Employee Real Deals, as well as access to ongoing learning, support and training.

Team members work a weekly rotating shift roster, across an 8-hr day and afternoon work pattern. The shift roster at the Service centre offers flexibility to fit your lifestyle, such as family friendly hours i.e. enabling school drop off or pick up. Shift pattern as follows (overtime also available):

Week 1: Monday – Friday - 6am – 2pm,

Week 2: Monday – Thursday - 2pm – 11pm

Recruitment Process

Once you have submitted your application online and have identified whether you want to be considered for full-time, part-time or casual employment, we will invite suitable applicants to attend our information session and group assessment days. You will meet our people and begin to explore what it’s really like to work with us at BlueScope.

Key Dates

Information session will be held during the week of the 5th December 2022.

Group assessment and interview days will be held Friday 16th December and/or Monday 19th December 2022.
