The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our  Paint Lines Maintenance Team at our Western Port Manufacturing facility as an Electrical Engineer – Reliability Specialist. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have four major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

What Will You Do?

Working directly with production teams to understand core processes you will review asset performance and provide solutions to maintenance teams. You’ll perform investigations, propose solutions and lead various projects to completion, ensuring our equipment is maintained to the highest standard in order to deliver our safety, quality and reliability objectives.  You will:

  • identify and diagnose complex equipment fault issues using deep root cause analysis
  • manage multiple projects from inception to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget
  • improve equipment reliability and capability whilst measuring cost reduction
  • provide engineering support to maintenance, operations and other engineering disciplines, to deliver solutions that maintain and sustain a safe and reliable plant

More About You

As a tertiary qualified Electrical Engineer, you will be showcasing your strong technical and analytical knowledge in order to meet the reliability objectives. You will bring:

  • effective work planning and project management skills
  • sound understanding of Programmable Logistic Controller, Scada, DC & AC drives and Microsoft Project
  • exposure to Lean systems or methodologies
  • a growth mindset of continuous learning and improvement
  • strong communication skills and an proactive approach in building constructive and effective relationships
  • a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
