The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our BlueScope Distribution business in our Mount Isa team as a Customer Service Officer. BlueScope Distribution is a provider of single-source product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification.  BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

What Will You Do?

Working with your team members, you will be a key contact for sales and service enquiries received in person and via phone and email. This will see you: 

  • follow up customer quotes, deliveries and product supply levels
  • attend to walk-in customers face to face
  • handle incoming customer orders via phone or email
  • accurately process customer orders
  • work closely with the QLD sales, operations and Supply Chain teams regarding customer supply and solutions

More About You

You will have a positive attitude combined with an eagerness to learn and provide exceptional customer experience. In addition, it would be advantageous to have the following experience and attributes: 

  • previous experience in a busy customer service or internal sales environment
  • effective communication and time management skills
  • ability to problem solve and develop solutions 
  • computer competency with SAP and MS Office, or a willingness to learn our systems
  • ability to work independently and in a team
