The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Coke and Iron engineering team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Team Leader. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

What Will You Do?

You will provide quality solutions that will improve asset performance, as well as coach and mentor a team of enthusiastic engineers.

This challenging and dynamic role will allow you to expand your skills in managing an engineering team whilst supervising a portfolio of projects throughout the engineering life-cycle.  You will manage from concept to execution within key plant areas, playing a key role in technical and business case assessments across various projects.

You will deliver continuous improvement outcomes while also contributing to the ongoing development and progress of the site operations, practices and safety performance.

More About You

You will have leadership expertise and a desire to investigate and problem solve, along with a results-driven attitude. You will have:

• degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• engineering experience in a heavy industry environment
• experience in managing multi-disciplined projects
• leadership experience in an industrial workplace
• experience in developing and promoting capital management practices
