The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Orrcon Steel business in our Salisbury team as an Electrician. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands. 

In this business-critical role, you will provide hands-on electrical maintenance services to our production teams who operate within a continuous manufacturing environment. Your contribution will enable improved machine safety, uptime and performance so we can continue to make and deliver our world-class product to our valued customers.

Initially this role will work a 6-week roster:

• 4 weeks of 4 on 4 off, 2x day shift from 5:48am to 6pm and 2x night shift from 5:48pm to 6am
• 2 weeks of 5 days, Monday to Friday on dayshift from 6am to 2pm

What Will You Do?

Working in a supportive environment, you will contribute to the safety of our people, the quality of our product and the reliability of our equipment. You'll achieve this by:

• responding to and resolving machine breakdowns with a sense of urgency
• planning and coordinating shutdowns for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
• continually seeking opportunities to improve our maintenance strategies
• providing provisional out of hours support to the production team as per a shared roster
• delivering on the business objectives through PLC, Siemens S7,TIA and the SCADA systems.

More About You

We are on the lookout for dedicated team players and being a qualified Industrial Electrician, you'll bring:

• Australian Trade qualification with Certificate III - Electrotechnology Electrician
• Must have an Australian Unrestricted Electrical Licence
• Must have a reasonable understanding of mechanical aptitude and maintenance in previous roles
