The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our BlueScope Distribution business in our Westall team as an Operational Logistics Trainee.  BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

In this exciting opportunity, you will gain a Certificate III whilst we support and develop you with first-class on-the-job training in a hybrid role that combines safety and all aspects of supply chain operations Completing this traineeship will open opportunities to a career with a global organisation, exposure to dispatch, machine operation, project management and safety. 

A self-motivated, quick thinker, you quickly adapt and can juggle more than one task at any given time. You also enjoy keeping busy and working in a supportive team environment.  

The traineeship is a 12-month fixed term, with the view to provide you with a long-term career with us. 

What Will You Do?

In this exciting opportunity, working in a collaborative team environment, you will receive ongoing training and support to learn to:

• assist the dispatch team in planning, organising and dispatching between 250-350 tons of steel each day to our customers in the Metro Melbourne and VIC/TAS regional areas.
• help control the receipt of feed coil, steel sheet and steel plate – plus Aluminium sheet and extrusion in a safe and controlled manner.
• assist with inbound goods receipting in SAP, outbound delivery documentation, maintain stock records and plan delivery schedules
• provide support with the safe loading and unloading of vehicles
• assist in maintaining safe operations by maintaining equipment, adhering to safe work practices and verifying safety during all aspects of delivery to our multiple customer sites.
• Learn to manage and maintain efficiency in a fast based and exciting national supply chain enterprise.
• within this role you will learn all key aspects of a busy distribution supply chain business.
