The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Business Improvement team as a Program Manager for our Avenir business and technology transformation program. Avenir will transform from aging legacy systems and sub-optimal business processes to an agile information technology platform, Microsoft Dynamics, that enables more efficient business operations. The vision is to make a step change in our customer service by simplifying the existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system landscape which will reduce duplication, improve data integrity, reduce inefficiency and waste, while mitigating the risk of aging systems and improving access to information. This transformation will set BlueScope up to succeed in an environment that is rapidly changing, underpinned by technology platforms that are flexible and can respond to change far more quickly and cost effectively than its current systems.

In this exciting role valuing Customer Centricity, Leadership, Integrity, Innovation and Collaboration, you will support the General Manager of Business Transformation in the delivery of the Avenir Business Transformation Program, ensuring the project successfully delivers against the articulated objectives, specifically meeting business requirements within the approved cost and time constraints.

This role can be based in Sydney NSW or Wollongong NSW

What Will You Do?

In this critical role, you will manage the complexity of relationships with our external vendors and internal program team, working closely with all to ensure productive relationships with the purpose of working towards a common goal of project success. You will ensure that senior stakeholders are fully informed of program status/performance and manage all stakeholders and relationships ensuring that they are held to account for the delivery of their scopes.

To achieve this, you will:

• Engage with Program stakeholders, internal teams and external vendors managing the relationships, complexities and ambiguities to ensure success
• Ensure the program tracks to key milestones and deadlines
• Ensure the program is delivered in accordance with the approved budget. Program variations are logged and tracked in accordance with project governance
• Ensure that key program deliverables and artifacts are developed as outlined in the statement of work
• Ensure that program spend is tracked against the budget, with routine reporting provided and emerging issues identified
• Create a culture within the Program Team that aligns with Our Purpose

 More About You

With your demonstrable experience in program delivery, you will also have:

• Demonstrated experience of ERP implementation with a tier 1 industry product
• Experience of managing large IT programs with budgets of $10m plus
• Relationship Management at an executive level 
• Experience of managing large multi discipline teams
• Experience in managing programs in a global multi-vendor environment
• Demonstrated ability to apply technical solutions to program management problems
• Experience of delivering or implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 projects
• Experience of working within a manufacturing or heavy industrial business would be desirable
