The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Commercial Credit team as a Credit Team Leader based in Mt Waverley VIC.  As BlueScope continues to grow as a business we will continue to strengthen our commercial team by looking to bring new capabilities into the function.

We are transforming our Credit Team and we are looking for a Credit Team Leader to join us on our journey.  In this role, you will provide leadership and support to the team to minimise overdue and high-risk debts whilst delivering a quality customer experience. 

What Will You Do?

In this exciting opportunity, where you can apply your credit control experience to strengthen the team, you will: 

  • proactively manage escalation activity including high-value collections, risk mitigation activities to minimise overdue and doubtful debts. 
  • support in the management of major customer accounts within agreed terms and approved limits, including the management of held orders
  • engage with the sales team to proactively manage customer outcomes
  • lead business partner relationship with internal business units, setting up a transparent solution with a single view of customer accounts and actively manage and provide timely escalation of customer claim deductions
  • escalate Ageing Debt to ensure strong DSO performance and minimal Doubtful and Bad Debt
  • provide detailed analysis, support and proactive engagement to correct and resolve Trade Debtor delinquent performers
  • develop reporting to show Year on Year and Month on Month results against forecast for your customer portfolio
  • introduce measures to return customers to correct trade terms 

More About You

  • experience working with a large multi-national operation
  • ability to deliver a strong ledger performance
  • demonstrated experience managing a debtors book of major accounts
  • reporting capability
  • high attention to detail and time management skills
  • advanced Excel skills and experience in SAP or a similar ERP
