Job Description

The Digital Project Manager, is an integral part of the Global Digital Strategy team, that champions Our Purpose and enables the identification and delivery of business transformation initiatives centred around Industry 4.0.

Reporting to the Digital Transformation Manager - Manufacturing, this position will work closely with engineering teams to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing assets across the regions.

The Opportunity

You will have the opportunity to influence BlueScope’s asset management practices as successful implementation of asset intelligence, will provide the foundation of how we manage our manufacturing assets with technology to drive throughput, productivity and world class quality.

You will regularly work with key people across the global manufacturing footprint (Australia, Asia, North America, New Zealand), to understand the current practices of maintaining our manufacturing assets and understanding the desirability, viability and feasibility of deploying a new approaches to asset intelligence using digital technologies. You will provide expertise, guidance and support as required leveraging best practice across BlueScope.

You will also support and provide technical project management leadership, including defining schedules, tasks, resource requirements and communicating project plans to associated teams associate with a global implementation of new technologies

In addition, you will be an ambassador of learning and knowledge sharing, demonstrating can do attitude to challenging business problems and establishing foundations of for best practices, that help evolve our way of working, for the future.

Your Background

We’re expecting you to be a clear communicator who is collaborative, adaptable and able to build trust and meaningful relationships across the business. You will have at least five plus years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, maintenance and asset / project management in  a heavy industry environment.  Exposure to new digital platforms and solutions, to support asset monitoring and intelligence, would be highly regarded.

You are a tertiary-qualified engineering practitioner, who is able to work independently and takes accountability for communicating, deliverables and results. Importantly, you are someone who is proactive, tenacious and eager to learn and grow your career, within a global organisation.

Work Location

Location is Westernport, Melbourne, Sydney, Port Kembla or New Zealand.
