The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our People team as a Health and Safety Professional supporting our BlueScope Building Components business in NSW. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions & services through its four leading brands – Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild & Kiteleys.

People are our strength and in this opportunity, you will grow and build strong partnering relationships with our frontline management team. You will coach, develop and lead the business on health, safety and environmental outcomes.

What Will You Do? 

Based at our Emu Plains site, with responsibility for multiple sites across NSW, you will:

• deliver HSE advice to our business leaders, thinking beyond the quick fix, to promote continual improvement in the engagement of people and management of risk
• lead implementation of the Building Components Health Safety and Environment plan
• build HSE leadership and capability within the business unit
• conduct incident investigations and use those learnings to improve controls
• support the team with reporting and governance requirements

With your ability to influence, coach, connect and communicate meaningfully with our people and leaders, you will bring:  

• understanding of risk identification and mitigation strategies
• proven skills in incident investigations
• the ability to promote and inspire innovation and change
• sound ability to multitask, ensuring that you can balance day-to-day tasks with longer-term strategic projects
