What is the role?

The IT Commercial Analyst role primarily exists to provide analytical support to the IT Commercial team for the procurement of IT goods and services. You will support the decision-making process through market intelligence, data collection, modelling and analysis and recommendations.

This role will help deliver continuous improvement outcomes through effective contract, vendor &/or process management.

The IT Commercial Analyst position will be based in Port Kembla, NSW.  It will encompass a diverse portfolio of work which will include projects, initiatives and ongoing BAU.

More specifically you will:

• Undertake analysis to support sourcing decisions and evaluation of proposals.
• Contribute to the evaluation of potential suppliers using agreed criteria to ensure optimal cost and risk position is achieved.
• Assist in developing IT contract negotiation strategy using contract and data analysis.
• Analyse the robustness of proposals, validate assumptions, and provide recommendations for sourcing related initiatives to the IT Commercial team.
• Collaborate with internal customers to support procurement strategies, operational plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in developing and implementing long term IT procurement strategies consistent with BlueScope Steel ASP business objectives to optimise current position and drive continual sustainable value.
• Validate project sourcing strategies are appropriate and project commercial/contract risks are mitigated.
• Assist in managing the process of continuously analysing the performance of vendors to ensure delivery in line with contractual obligations along with performance metrics and escalating/rectifying this in a timely manner.
• Drive contract performance through improving processes, enhancing efficiencies, increasing productivity, benchmarking and adopting best practices, leveraging technological advancement and improving controls.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking specific strengths in this role.  We are looking for:

• Appropriate Tertiary Qualifications.
• At least 3 years demonstrated analytical experience.
• Proven analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Ability to create business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations.
• Critical thinking - challenges the status quo and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Exposure to suppliers or customers, contracts or production environments.
• Demonstrated team player with ability to achieve timely outcomes through collaborative skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills to build effective working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
