Job Description

The Logistics Manager is responsible and accountable for the safe, efficient and cost-effective management and continuous improvement of production and systems whilst ensuring the achievement of planned delivery schedules. This role will have direct support of a medium sized team and will oversee to their day to day operations.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Lead and direct programs to reduce business freight costs;
  • Ensure that any risks or shortfalls are communicated and managed to minimize DIFOT risk;
  • Contribute to the logistics weekly & daily planning processes;
  • Actively contribute to the successful carrier contract reviews by providing and communicating accurate metrics;
  • Support the wider supply chain through investigation into logistics related claims, incidents, and customer inquiries; and
  • Ensure relevant policies, procedures and systems are implemented and consistently applied.

Who are we looking for?

You will also have demonstrated experience in planning, problem solving, and reporting and can build good relationships with stakeholders. You will have the ability to work flexibly and adapt to a multiple stakeholder environment which will include the Scheduling department, Shift Supervisors, Customer Service, Branch Managers and Transport Contractors. You will be a safety leader on the site and you will be expected to lead by example and encourage team efforts towards achieving zero harm.

Background in Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations is highly desirable and will be supported by demonstrated professional experience in these areas.
