We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to be based in our O’Sullivan Beach Precision Tube manufacturing facility in South Australia.  You will play a critical role in ensuring the plant’s operating machinery is kept in a condition that will invariably maximise the production capacity and meet production targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preventive maintenance of equipment and machinery;
• Attending to breakdowns and performing repairs;
• Ensuring HSE policies, procedures, rules and requirements are being adhered to;
• Working in accordance with Quality Management System requirements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; and
• Supervising and training contractors and other trades on-site as required.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful for this role, you will hold relevant trade qualifications in Mechanical Fitting, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and possess competencies such as:

• problem-solving skills with knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and control systems;
• understanding of Machining on lathes and Milling Machines;
• knowledge of welding, transmission and brake systems;
• ability to successfully respond to breakdowns and tasks in an acceptable time frame;
• effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give clear instructions and directions to Operators and team members when required; and
• be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
