Job Description

This is an exciting time to join BlueScope, with two positions available for electrical tradespeople in our Electrical Services department at our Port Kembla site.

Both Electrical Tradesperson positions will involve tasks such as installation, isolations/de-isolations, fault finding and breakdown response. You will participate in group activities that pertain to plant reliability and improvements and should be able to liaise effectively with operators and other maintenance team members. You will be expected to provide step-up support when required.

Who are we looking for?

For electrical role number one, you will have an electrical trade qualification and licence.  You will be required to have the following skills and knowledge:

  •  experience in site supervision of electrical installation projects;
  • experience in electrical construction industry and awareness of AS3000 & AS3012 for application in heavy industry; and
  • experience in project scoping, cost estimation and planning is desirable.

For electrical role number two, you will be required to have the following skills and knowledge:

  • high-voltage switchgear maintenance;
  • high-voltage protection maintenance and commissioning; and
  • high-voltage operation.

You will have a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement, along with demonstrated skills in root-cause analysis, strong problem-solving skills and communication. Your initiative and self-organisation will see you succeed in this role.
