Job Description

BlueScope has manufacturing and distribution centres in numerous locations and in Queanbeyan we service a large and active market by supplying a diverse range of quality building products that are highly valued by the construction/building sector.  Our products include Colorbond© steel roofing, wall cladding, rainwater goods, solutions such as fascia & gutter systems and home improvements such as fencing, carports and patios. We also have structural solutions including purlins, Bondek & custom flashings for all uses, just to name a few.

  • We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to:
  • Manage a team of 6-7 machine operators.
  • Assist with budgeting and reporting.
  • Ensure production goals are achieved.
  • Promote and ensure a safe workplace.
  • Work on our machines.
  • Engage with multiple facets of the business internal / external

Who are we looking for?

This is a hands-on position that will ideally suit a person who has experience working in a manufacturing environment, who understands the importance of meeting schedules, and is willing to perform a variety of tasks. It will require prioritising and allocating of work, reporting and being accountable. The person will have to be customer centric with a passion for meeting tight time frames and interacting with our customers

As a coordinator you will need to be able to support and manage your team and ensure that they are able to do their job well. You will also need to work closely with internal & external parties to co-ordinate deliveries. Safety is a priority and it will have to be a continued focus.

You will need to enjoy working in a fun yet busy environment, have excellent communication skills, and have a friendly, can-do attitude. Applying the highest safety practices and a commitment to building a career with us is essential.

Our shifts start at 7:00am and through to 8pm so you will need to be flexible in your start and end times occasionally. Steel manufacturing experience will be highly regarded is not essential.
