We are seeking an Incremental Product Development (IPD) Specialist / Technologist to join our Technical Department located in Springhill.

With a primary focus on painted products, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross functional teams to identify, manage and deliver profitable product advancements, improving product and process capability for the business.

In this role, you will manage projects including;

• Develop project plans, budget and resource requirements;
• Assess business benefits, costs and ease of implementation;
• Manage key stakeholders, involvement and communication; and
• Co-ordinates prototype testing across the relevant channel.

You will implement Manufacturing Design to lock in product and process capability for existing and new product developments as well as manage technology developments to deliver new incremental products and optimise current process control and product capability.

There may be a requirement to travel occasionally and work additional hours where product trial assessments take place.

Who are we looking for?

You are driven, with an ability to coordinate technical projects, engage in commercial/financial analysis of new products, and work seamlessly with other departments and customers, to transform market needs to technical solutions. You will possess a high level of data analysis and problem-solving skills, understanding product design and process capability

You will have experience in project management and have relevant tertiary qualifications in Science, Material Engineering, or similar.

You will have experience in an operational environment, such as the metal coating line or paint line, and additionally, have knowledge of BlueScope’s products, customers and markets.
